Fire Safety Friday at Monterey Youth (MY) Museum
Stop, Drop and Roll at MY Museum! During Fire Prevention Week, MY Museum has previously hosted our favorite firefighters from the Monterey Fire Department for an hour of fire safety demonstrations and activities that include a real fire engine. MY Museum is continually doing its part to help us educate local families and young children on how best to be prepared for emergencies.
Donut Pick-up at Monterey Youth (MY) Museum
Monterey Firefighters Community Foundation and MY Museum are continually making an effort to engage and educate families about fire prevention and fire safety. The donut breakfast pick-up is another example of the fundraising events we do in conjunction with this wonderful organization.
Kid’s Firefighter Challenge
Children ages 5 and older were invited to participate in a day of educational firefighting fun. Each child was fitted with turnouts, taken on a guided tour of each station and put through a series of obstacles that showed them first hand what it takes to be a firefighter. This is a great example of how our community events engage children and adults in a fun, safe and educational environment.
Movie In The Park
Monterey Firefighters Community Foundation regularly hosts Movie in the Park, a free cinematic event with complimentary concessions and educational activities for the entire family. Previous events have included MY Museum's Wheelie Mobilee, the Library's Bookmobile, face painting and a Fire Safety Trailer with simulations. Make sure to stop by your Monterey fire engines in attendance at our next event to ask any fire safety questions you may have and let your children experience sitting in a real fire engine. Holiday Toy Drives
Each holiday season Monterey Firefighters Community Foundation teams up with local organizations to provide presents for families in need. Distributing toys to families who wouldn’t otherwise be able to provide for their children during the holidays is not only rewarding, but a perfect example of how we strive to bring people together to support one another. Thank you for continuing to invest in the safety, security and well-being of our community.
Annual Pancake Breakfasts
Monterey Firefighters Community Foundation is proud to host our annual Pancake Breakfast on the fourth of July. This is another family friendly event that allows us to share a delicious breakfast while engaging in fun and educational activities. Previous pancake breakfasts have included fire engine tours, kids arts and crafts tables, photo opportunities by Poptopia Balloons and Ben Kaatz photography, live music and continued opportunities to meet and interact with your local Monterey firefighters. We look forward to eating pancakes with you!
